Gaining planning permission is a key step in almost any development

Nordbarn is a multi-disciplinary team of Town Planners, Architects, and Heritage experts. We can take a project through from inception to completion, but we also offer the flexibility to engage a client’s own architects and provide a planning service, whilst our design team can also work with clients who have engaged other town planning professionals.

Our values are rooted in friendly service, integrity, teamwork, and meeting client’s expectations. We provide honest and sound advice, mediate when required, and maintain high professional standards. We aim to build strong and lasting relationships with our clients, and we are passionate about barn conversions.

What does a planning consultant do?

Planning consultants manage and complete planning applications including prior notifications, which can often be detailed, technical, and time-consuming. The range of advice can vary from the provision of initial advice about what approach to take for planning, to being involved with all stages of the design and build process.

Where applications are refused, we are experts in preparing and submitting planning appeals.

All accredited planning consultants must be a member of is the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI). Membership of this institute is an internationally acknowledged symbol of expert aptitude and proficiency.

The RTPI website has a list of all accredited planning consultants.
